Oakmere Falcons
Class of 2028
Right Back · Right Wing Back · #14
Oakmere Academy (Falcons) | Highland Pines SC · ECNL Girls U17 (#14)
Three minutes forty of unedited varsity and ECNL footage, best five plays in the first thirty seconds. Full-match film is linked beside it.
Avery Bennett is a Class of 2028 right back from Asheville, North Carolina, who defends one-on-one like a center back and delivers the final ball like a winger. She starts every match for Oakmere Academy and for Highland Pines SC in the ECNL.
She started at seven in the Asheville rec league, joined the Highland Pines academy at ten as a right winger, and was moved to the back line at thirteen by a coach who wanted her engine and her crossing on the same side of the pitch. The game slowed down for her there, and she has not given up the spot since.
As a freshman she started fourteen matches for Oakmere's varsity and played every minute of the state semifinal. A year later she was voted captain of both her club and school sides, named North Carolina All-State as a sophomore, and finished the 2026 season second on the team in assists from right back with eleven clean sheets.
Off the field she carries a 4.21 weighted GPA in an honors and AP course load, coaches a U8 rec team on Saturday mornings, and is looking for a competitive Division I or high-academic Division III program where she can contribute early and grow into a leader.
I love the part of the game nobody films: winning the ball back, playing it early, and watching a teammate run onto it. The assists are the receipt. The work is the point.
Positions, playing style, and coach-rated attributes from the Highland Pines staff's spring 2026 player evaluation.
Defends the winger on an island and wins it. Patient in the duel, quick to recover, and rarely beaten on the outside. Led the team in tackles won and recorded eleven clean sheets in twenty varsity starts.
Pushed higher when Highland Pines plays three at the back. Times the overlap, crosses early with either foot, and delivers attacking set pieces from the right. Nine assists in 2026 from the back line.
Comfortable wide when chasing a game: takes on the full-back, cuts in on the left foot, and tracks back without being asked.
Measurables from the Highland Pines SC ID camp, June 2026.

Avery is the first name on my lineup card. She wins her one-v-one every week and she starts our attack from the right. Whoever gets her is getting a coach on the field.
Available to college staffWe put a freshman on the field in a state semifinal because she'd earned it in practice every single day. A year later the seniors voted her captain. That tells you how she trains and how she treats people.
Available to college staffHer technical floor is already college-level: clean first touch, both feet, head up. What sets her apart is that she asks for the hard sessions. She wants the extra rep.
Available to college staffField assignments and kickoff times are confirmed the week of each event. Email the family for the latest schedule and Avery's jersey color.
Avery wears #14 in navy at home and white on the road for Oakmere, and #14 in navy for Highland Pines.
